I apologize posts have been infrequent lately. I have been pretty busy since the beginning of the Fall with work.
That said, I have been really interested in returning to colored fluid renders like this. I experiment with a couple of different looks, different render sample rates and simulation settings.
This began as a smoke simulation (as seen in some of the renders), and then became a smoke-dense fire simulation. I wanted to get a glow effect of the flame inside the smoke density.
The shading I take a particular joy in toying with until I get something desirable – here’s the usual mess it ends up being by the time of rendering:
I did the simulations, particle generation, shading and rendering in Blender, and then created the splash screen in Inkscape, adding some final layer masks in GIMP. Always Opensource!
